SoftlyNote Terms of Use

1. Operator, acceptance, and eligibility

SoftlyNote is currently operated by Yali Bian. Before creating an account, you separately confirm that you are at least 18, accept these Terms, acknowledge the Privacy Policy, and permit the third-party AI processing required by the core service. You must be able to make those decisions. Continued use after a material update may require renewed confirmation.

2. Product purpose and Apple terms

SoftlyNote is a private-first personal recording and reflection tool built around AI. It is not medical care, therapy, legal or financial advice, or an emergency service. Review AI-generated content yourself and take responsibility for what you save, edit, export, or act on. In an emergency, contact local emergency services or a trusted person. For the app obtained through Apple's App Store, these Terms supplement Apple's Standard End User License Agreement; if they conflict about the licensed app, the applicable Apple terms control.

3. Account security

• Provide accurate account information and protect your credentials.
• Do not share access tokens, bypass account boundaries, or access another person’s private content.
• If you suspect unauthorized access, sign out all sessions and contact us through Feedback or privacy@softlynote.com.

4. Your content

You keep your rights in your content. You give SoftlyNote a limited license to store, copy, process, and transmit it only to provide, protect, and improve the features you use. Third-party AI processing occurs only within the explicit-consent boundary described in the Privacy Policy. You must have the right to upload the content you provide.

5. Prohibited conduct

• Illegal, fraudulent, harassing, infringing, or harmful use.
• Probing, bypassing, or disrupting authentication, rate limits, data isolation, system security, or service availability.
• Automated bulk scraping, reselling the service, or submitting sensitive third-party data you are not authorized to process.
• Presenting AI output as a professional diagnosis, guaranteed fact, or human opinion from SoftlyNote.

6. Core AI service and content boundaries

AI output can be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your circumstances. SoftlyNote labels AI content and applies safety boundaries, but does not guarantee error-free output. Do not rely on SoftlyNote for high-risk professional decisions. Third-party AI is a core component of the current service. You may decline or withdraw permission, but Journal, Chat, Write, Review, and other core services then become unavailable. Account management, export of existing data, and account deletion remain available.

7. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the service reliable but may suspend or change features for maintenance, security, provider outages, or legal requirements. We may restrict access for abuse, serious violations, or security risks. Account deletion remains subject to the retention and permanent-purge boundaries in the Privacy Policy.

8. Fees

The current version does not create a payment obligation through these terms. If paid digital features are offered later, price, period, trial, renewal, and cancellation terms will be shown before purchase. iOS purchases are also governed by Apple Media Services terms and App Store billing rules.

9. Termination, limits, and contact

You may stop using the service and request account deletion in Settings. We may suspend access for serious violations, unlawful use, or a genuine security risk, with notice or an appeal route where required by applicable law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SoftlyNote is provided as is and does not make promises about indirect, incidental, or consequential losses beyond what law requires.
